NVIDIA announced today that the GeForce2 MX is shipping with two of Sonys newest video enthusiast targeted systems, the PCV-RX270DS and PCV-RX280DS mini-tower systems. According to the release this will enable a new generation of digital imaging, movie editing, video e-mail, and other high-powered graphics applications. In a statement by Jeff Fisher, senior vice president of sales at NVIDIA, he pointed out Sonys fast growth and reputation as being a trendsetter. In a quote from NVIDIAs press release he also states “With the VAIO Digital Studio PCs, Sony proves that you can have both visual innovation and an affordable, space-saving design in one package. The attractively priced VAIO PCs, with GeForce2 MX graphics, allow more and more users to take advantage of the latest digital video applications in a single or dual-screen display.”
The VAIO Digital Studio series desktop PCs (PCV-RX260DS, PCV-RX270DS and PCV-RX280DS) also utilize CDRW drives to archive captured video and DVD drives for DVD and MPEG/VCD playback. Along with the movie capture and digital imaging this VAIO series enables the user to compose/edit video e-mail and music.
