AMD announced it will soon be posting a reg fix for the Athlon processor in Win2K. It appears as though the AMD test labs have uncovered a bug in the communication on the AGP to CPU bridge that can cause corruption of video data shared between AGP graphics adapters and AMD Athlon or AMD Duron processors when running Microsoft Windows 2000 While we havent experienced corruption or graphics glitches using our Athlons in Win2K, we do occasionally get booted from games and 3D benchmarks. Our success rate notwithstanding, we felt since AMD found a bug you, the reader, should know about it. We will experiment with the reg patch and let you know what we find, and while a download is not currently available, we will post a link as soon as it is available.
