Forget Intel And AMD, HP Is In A Different Kind Of Speed Race

September 24th is the day of the U.S. Grand Prix Formula One World Championship at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Hewlett-Packard will be there, in a manner of speaking anyway. HP provides Formula One racing teams Jaguar Racing and Jordan Grand Prix with, to quote, a total integrated IT solution consisting of advanced HP computer systems for use in car and engine design; personal computers and other office equipment for the business infrastructure; telemetry systems for measuring and interpreting car and engine data; plus web design and hosting and mission critical support around the world – around the clock.

Jordan is one of the top three F1 racing teams and has had a partnership with HP for five years with HP providing business, IT, design, and in-race telemetry products. Jaguar Racings entire infrastructure uses HP servers, and HP is used exclusively at a desktop level to include high-end HP Vectra PCs and HP Kayak PC Workstations. Gary Anderson, technical director for Jaguar Racing, cites HPs reliability and complete solution capability as the cornerstone to their relationship.Steve Nevey, CAE manager of Jaguar Racing, equates racing to a business and attributes the success of the business to HP.
