TDK has released its own 12X writer, 10X rewriter, and 32X reader in the form of the veloCD Rewriter. TDK bills its drive as a master of digital audio ripping with extraction speeds of 24X (3.6 megabytes per second) and new BURN-Proof technology that guarantees write speeds across the slower IDE/ATAPI bus while eliminating buffer underrun errors at the same time. These types of errors typically occur when the source disc or drive cannot supply data to the drive fast enough during the writing process and typically results in a dead disc or coaster. TDKs CD Blender software suite comes with its own TDK Digital Mixmaster music management and recording software plus Nero 5.0 CD recording software, and InCD drag-and-drop packet writing software. The TDK 12X/10X/32X veloCD burner will be available this August with a suggested retail price of $349.
